Background
Barry joined the newly formed Projex team in June 2009 as Partner, bringing project management, building surveying and architectural skills to the company.
Having joined CNP in 2007 to assist on a variety of building surveying services including reinstatement cost assessment, dilapidations and party wall, his role quickly expanded to include taking the lead role as contract administrator/project manager for a number of key projects. Prior to CNP, he worked for fire and security glazing specialists, Fendor Hansen, in a number of roles, particularly in design, surveys, purchasing and logistics.
Barry completed an HND in Architectural studies before graduating as an Honours student in building surveying from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle in 2006.
Key experience
Various project refurbishments, change of use and fit out roles for clients such as Oakgate, Dundas and Tiger Developments. Management of national expansion on behalf of retail client from inception to completion involving due diligence surveys, change of use, fit-out plan and contract administration.
Barry has also managed and co-ordinated numerous refurbishment projects providing full design services in addition to contract administration and managed external consultants.
Favourite building
The Sage, Gateshead – Amazing structure behind the scenes that supports and allows this iconic building to function. Oh, and it doesn’t look too bad either.
